PPECB appoints new CEO

THE Perishable Products Export Control Board has named Luvuyo Mabombo as its new chief executive officer, effective from January 7. The announcement ends months of speculation following the departure of Neels Hubinger in June last year, after which the position was rotated among a threemember executive. Mabombo has more than six years of industry experience, most recently as chief operating officer at the Department of Agriculture. He holds a B Comm Accounting Degree from the University of the Western Cape and has completed a Certificate in Public and International Economics through the Economic Policy Research Institute. He will be the first black chief executive to serve PPECB since its founding in 1926.
