P&O NEDLLOYD Container Line chief executive officer, Tim Harris, has resigned from his position within P&O Nedlloyd, as well as from the board of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O).
P&O chairman Lord Sterling says that this comes as a result of a divergence of views that exists between the Board and Harris concerning the future management of P&O.
Following the resignation of Tim Harris, deputy chairman of Royal Nedlloyd and chief financial officer of P&O Nedlloyd, Haddo Meijer, has been appointed chairman of P&O Nedlloyd's executive committee, while Robert Woods has been appointed group managing director of P&O Nedlloyd.
Harris was appointed to the Board of P&O in 1986. He became the assistant managing director of P&O in 1995 and chief executive officer of P&O Nedlloyd Container Line Limited in 1996.
