Walvis Bay is becoming a new tobacco export gateway, according to Jason Fourie, director of Interlogix Namibia. The advantages of Walvis Bay include its proximity to the central clearing houses in Antwerp, as well as a lower risk of beetle infestation, he says. Interlogix set up the route for high-value tobacco after being awarded a tender which was facilitated by the Walvis Bay Corridor Group.
All the clearing, forwarding, warehousing and packing to order is done by Interlogix in Walvis Bay.
