Perishable logistics operator opens in CT

A NEW perishable logistics company - LauritzenCool Logistics (LCL) - has opened its doors in Cape Town. A subsidiary of the Danish J.Lauritzen Group, LCL will offer SADC perishable shippers a multi-destination, total door-to-door logistical service. The company is headed up by managing director Johan Kruger who has several years experience in the industry with the likes of Outspan and Unifruco, and more recently as a consultant to the fruit industry. "Outsourcing logistics operations means that clients can once again focus on their core business and not get dragged down by routine administration and transport logistics," said Kruger. He stressed that the choice of operator would not be restricted to in-house options. "We are a multi-destination, multimodal operator and will therefore use the shipping line which best suits the customer's needs."
