Discharge operations, inspection work and transloading of the discharged damaged containers from the MV ONE Apus are proceeding steadily, according to the latest advisory from Ocean Network Express (ONE).
Since the first day of container discharging at Kobe, a total of 859 boxes had been safely discharged by February 17.
The line expects the vessel to be ready for departure around mid-March (subject to change).
“More detailed information regarding her schedule will be advised once available,” according to the advisory.
The vessel was en route from Yantian, China to Long Beach, USA when it encountered gale-force winds and large swells around 1 600 nautical miles northwest of Hawaii. The severe weather conditions caused the vessel to roll heavily, resulting in the loss the 1 816 containers overboard.
