Nucleus launches DRC consol service

As a jointventure logistics management service, Nucleus Mining Logistics and Cargo 2 Congo intend to launch a consolidation service between their warehouse in Olifantsfontein and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) towards the end of July. “This joint venture,” Nucleus MD Iain Clark told FTW, “involves Nucleus Mining Logistics, Cargo 2 Congo, a major transport operator to and from the DRC and Zambia, along with our DRC partner Comexas Afrique, a key player in logistics and customs clearing in the DRC. “This consol service is something we have been planning for some time,” Clark added. “But it was when Comexas opened a new bonded facility in Lubumbashi, the mining capital of the DRC, that it became a truly advantageous service to offer the market.” All three companies have been operating into and within the DRC for many years, he said. “But combining our different areas of expertise we can now put together a seamless solution. “The advantage for the shippers and consignees is a reliable, fast-transit consol service where they also benefit from the fact that the cost is based only on what capacity they utilise,” Clark added.
