No ‘structural change’ in Ford routing

In FTW’s article headed “Chinese keep auto industry wheels turning in Port Elizabeth” (FTW July 18, 2014) it was reported that Ford had moved its component exports bound for Silverton from Port Elizabeth to Durban. Dave Everett, Safmarine global key account owner of the Ford account, told FTW: “Based on Safmarine’s clarification with Ford Motor Company of South Africa (FMCSA), they confirm there has been no structural change in the routing of any Ford import volumes from either port of Port Elizabeth or Ngqura (Coega), Eastern Cape to Durban, KwaZulu- Natal in 2014.”
