Nigeria’s oil refineries on the up

The Kaduna Refinery, in north-western Nigeria, contributes about 1.29 million litres of fuel per day.

Several oil refineries in Nigeria are now producing enough fuel to stabilise the West African nation’s supplies and availability.

According to a statement issued by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the country has attained a combined daily production of over 6.76 million litres of fuel per day, which is projected to increase to over 10 million litres a day by the end of January 2016.

Although Nigeria is Africa’s biggest oil exporter, the country imports nearly all its gasoline, owing to aging and neglected oil refineries, reports CNBC Africa.
