P&O NEDLLOYD South Africa has appointed Newcastle-born Anand Bunsee as financial director.
Bunsee, who has been with the company for almost 20 years, started off with Nedlloyd Lines where he occupied various positions in the finance department in Johannesburg and Durban. More recently he was financial controller: African Trades at P&O Nedlloyd's London office. He returned to South Africa last year and will be based at the P&O Nedlloyd Southern African headquarters in Cape Town.
He takes over from Nigel Macdonald, who retired at the end of March after 17 years with the organisation. Macdonald joined the ships agency, Ellerman & Bucknall, in 1983. He was appointed financial director of P&O Nedlloyd South Africa after the merger of P&O Containers and Nedlloyd Lines.
Macdonald is retiring to his home in Cape Town, where he will do financial consulting and spend time improving his tennis and golf handicap.
