BAX GLOBAL South Africa will add impetus to its supply chain management capabilities when it opens a new 10 000m2 facility on Isando, geared specifically for Bax clients and their supply chain needs.
The company is already providing supply chain management for
the likes of Remington, Carrier
Air Conditioners and Legend Housewares.
We import, clear, stack into warehouses, repack and distribute directly to selected locations. Often clients don't even see the goods. We take care of every aspect for them thereby alleviating many problems for them, said Bax South Africa sales and marketing director, John Owen.
Increasingly clients are starting to see the benefit of this method of operation, he said. They not only save costs by cutting down staff, but they also no longer need warehouses, said Owen. This was leading to substantial savings and meant they could concentrate on their core business.
In South Africa, now that we have become true global players with multi-national clients, it has become essential for us to move in this direction. We are finding a bigger need in the market with clients handing over this aspect of their business to us with a lot more confidence, he said.
