New warehouse completes start-to-finish import solution

Sasfin Premier Logistics is now providing the final leg of its start-to-finish import solution with the opening of its new 7 000-sqm warehouse in Pomona, Johannesburg. “Our new-build highly modern warehouse now offers improved security, a larger bonded facility, and full online tracking, amongst others,” said chief executive Peter Ehrenreich, speaking at the official launch of the new facility last week. He added that the prime location in the heart of Johannesburg’s logistics industry, as well as the additional space, allowed the company the room to grow. Sales and marketing director, Tamica Ching, told FTW that Sasfin had installed a new warehouse management system that offered its clients full visibility of stock and inventory levels. “Basically, orders can be placed and then tracked via a live system which offers various view options, including anytime view, current stock level visibility, scanning in of goods and more,” she said. Reports can be automatically generated for the client on a weekly or monthly basis. The bonded warehouse covers 940-sqm of floor space with a total capacity of 810 pallets/bin locations. “We also offer a de-group warehouse facility and four cages totalling 255-sqm for additional receiving and dispatch,” said Ching. The service offering includes a pick and pack facility up to box level. The company has fitted 19 high-resolution motionsensor cameras covering every square metre in the warehouse, said Ching. “There are biometrics fitted to all entrance and exit doors as an additional security measure,” she added.
