New storage facility speeds up turnaround time

SKR Freight now offers a handling and storage facility at its Pinetown premises, providing a quicker turnaround time for customers transporting goods on the Durban- Johannesburg route. “We have invested in a reach stacker and can now offer our clients the full service – storage, handling, packing and distribution,” marketing consultant, Juras Naidoo, told FTW. Naidoo says the company is also in the process of acquiring equipment that will further streamline operations and cut down on delivery time for its customers. “We recently took a long, hard look at our business and decided we needed to meet the demands of the corporate market, operating a 24-hour business in a 24-hour economy,” he said. With that in mind, SKR underwent a stringent staff restructuring process to bring the business in line with ‘more corporatethinking’. “We now also offer a 24-hour tracking service – from the time the goods are stored, packed and then loaded, until they reach their destination,” he added.
