A small harbour will open officially at Cape St. Francis in the southern Eastern Cape on 11 December 1996.

To be named Port St Francis, the small harbour will cater for the fishing and tourist industry, and will provide a port for chokka fisherman as well as providing moorings for 180 pleasure boats and yachts.

Port St Francis is likely to become SA's calamari capital as a result!
