New service improves MOL’s SA schedule

MITSUI OSK Lines has launched a new Indian Ocean Island shuttle service (IOX) in a tie-up with P&O Nedlloyd. The service provides a direct link between Asia and Port Louis, Reunion, and Tamatave. MOL previously served these ports with calls at Port Louis on the Asia-South America East Coast route (CSW), operating a dedicated feeder ship serving Reunion and Tamatave. The new IOX service offers direct weekly sailings between Singapore, and Port Louis, Reunion, and Tamatave. The move also improves scheduling between Asia and South America East Coast and South Africa by eliminating the call at Port Louis on MOL’s CSW route. Four vessels will be deployed on the service which departs Singapore late this month (September).
