The Nigerian Shippers’ Council has announced its intention to implement an Advanced Cargo Declaration Scheme based on an internet platform accessed via www.acdnigeria.com.
Shippers in all global ports of loading will be required to register on the web platform before booking cargo to Nigeria, according to information released by MSC.
Prior to loading shippers are expected to obtain from the web platform an Entry Summary Number (ESN) which must be advised to the shipping line agent and incorporated on the bill of lading and manifest by the agent.
Implementation date is imminent and shippers are therefore strongly advised to register to ensure that they are able to comply as soon as the procedure comes into effect.
