A NEW distribution hub for BP products throughout South Africa has been established at River Horse Valley in Durban. The new facility was established on behalf of BP with its logistics provider Unitrans as the main tenant. It is owned by newly-established company, Panross, a joint venture between Pangbourne Properties and Durban-based property company JT Ross and Son. JT Ross was responsible for the development and construction of the 14 320 m2 warehouse and office property. Says JT Ross director, Grant Smith: “It was built to BP specifications with both storage and A-grade office space.” Justin Haines of Pangbourne said the development was in the right position to provide access to all the necessary highways required for a major distribution network. “There is a shortage of suitable prime land and we believe that this has given BP a major distribution advantage,” he said. It will be operational in July.
