New partners join SafBank

SAFBANK LINE, Maersk Sealand and Mediterranean Shipping Company have entered into a vessel sharing agreement on the multi-purpose service between Southern Africa, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico and the United States.
This follows last month's
termination of the SafBank/ Lykes agreement, with Lykes opting to launch an independent service on the route.
SafBank has continued to operate the service without change in the interim. The new partnership agreement was announced on Monday (March 20).
The joint service will operate the four Agulhas Class vessels with an 18-day frequency.
As previously announced, the weekly named-day express container service, which is also operated by the three lines, remains in place, unchanged.
