New Europe – Africa service to be launched

ALAN PEAT A NEW Europe/West Africa/SA shipping service should soon take to the seas, with Zim Line having just completed a feasibility study, and the project having been signed off by the line’s management/company. This is all part of a plan in which Zim intends improving and strengthening its presence in Africa, according to Rhett van Zyl, MD of Polaris Shipping, SA agents for Zim. “We are in the process of talking to one or two potential partners,” he told FTW. “Alternatively, we will go it alone on this service. “Dates and schedules for service launch will be made available in due course.” Van Zyl also warns FTW readers to beware what they may have read in certain internet sites about the proposed new service.
