THE EUROPEAN Commission (EC) has recommended that a decision on whether Bulgaria and Romania should join the European Union (EU) on January 1 next year should be postponed until the northern hemisphere autumn. And, added the UK’s Economist, it also recommended that Slovenia, but not Lithuania, should be allowed to join the euro zone.
