A new concept in the transportation of export wines will soon be available to SA shippers when beverage transport specialist JF Hillebrand introduces its VinLiner insulation device to the local market. According to Pierre Corvisier, JF Hillebrand’s director of new services, VinLiner will be introduced in South Africa in the very near future. It’s a protective liner foil which is placed in dry containers to protect wine against thermal shocks, bad smells and humidity infiltration that may occur during transport. Designed specifically for the beverage industry, it was recently introduced to the New Zealand market where – like South African wine – exports travel thousands of miles and cross a range of climates.
