New CCO for Hapag-Lloyd

Hapag-Lloyd has appointed Thorsten Haeser as a new board member in charge of the line’s global sales activities as chief commercial officer (CCO).

The law graduate is currently MD of Versatel, a company owned by United Internet. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Sixt AG, Telefonica O2 and VIAG Interkom.

And, as he takes up his post, the line announced it will offer a weekly call in the Swedish port of Halmstad, effective September 7. The call will be added to the existing Sweden Denmark Express Service (SDX) and offers a direct link to the major North European hubs, Hamburg and Bremerhaven.

The new port rotation is: Bremerhaven–Hamburg–Helsingborg–Halmstad–Gothenburg–Aarhus–Bremerhaven. Halmstad is a port city in the province of Halland on the Swedish west coast located about midway between Gothenburg and Malmö.
