New Angolan cross-border logistics platform ‘making progress’

Angolan Minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomás.

Angola is making “good progress” with the establishment of its cross-border logistics platform at the Luvo border post near Mbanza Congo city in the country’s Zaire province, according to the country’s  transport minister, Augusto da Silva Tomás,

He was quoted by Angolan news wire service, Angpop, as saying that the platform would facilitate cross-border trade by providing a designated area for importers and exporters to market their goods

Augusto Tomás pointed to the proximity of the commercial port of Soyo to Luvo which would enable quicker distribution of goods to the market, particularly for landlocked neighbouring countries such as Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The logistics platform is projected to be operational by mid-2017.
