Named-day India service on the cards

The planned introduction of a named-day India consol service by independent airfreight consolidator CFR Freight is expected to spearhead further growth at the company’s King Shaka International Airport facility, according to Durban airfreight manager Chilton Corrigall. The branch has already seen a significant increase in both export and import volumes with the regular inbound consol services from China, Hong Kong, Europe and USA showing particularly strong growth, he told FTW. Nine months since its relocation to the new King Shaka International Airport, the branch is reaping the benefits. “The sky bridge, once fully operational, will bring cargo directly into the Dube Tradeport facility and allow clients the efficiency of faster collections from the warehouse, as opposed to direct from the airlines.”
