Mediterranean Shipping Company is set to add its first direct-call at the Port of Tema in Ghana after the 14 000-TEU box ship, MSC Ravenna, left the Port of Xingang in Taiwan last Thursday.
Its rotation from Xingang will be Busan, Gwangyang, Ningbo, Shanghai, Nansha, Singapore, Colombo, Lomé, Tema, Durban, Port Louis, Colombo and Singapore, back to Xingang.
The new development on MSC’s Africa Express service officially confirms Tema’s larger vessel-carrying capacity.
It is expected to improve transit time for transhipped goods destined for countries along the Gulf of Guinea, simultaneously unlocking business opportunities for clients in the Far East, the Antipodes, wider Oceania, Middle East, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
