Newly appointed Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters (53) has taken over from Ben Martins, relinquishing her role as Minister of Energy. She previously held the post of premier of the Northern Cape provincial government and was also a member of the Northern Cape provincial legislature. Peters holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of the North as well as several management certificates from a range of local and international universities, including the University of the Western Cape, the University of Cape Town graduate school of business and the University of Havana, Cuba.
