Agencies to be transferred MARINE CONSULTANCY and Logistics is to scale down its services as a general liner ships agency effective from the end of this month.

The Mer Austral agency has moved across to Bridge Marine with effect from the Srakane voyage 09-97 which loaded Durban on August 4-6.

Final agency arrangements for the United Arab Shipping Co/Clipper Shipping Line services are still to be finalised.

We will continue to operate as consultants and brokers, which was our core business until the late 80s, m.d. Peter Greiner told FTW.

It was at this stage that the company extended its portfolio and as agents for Afris Line was one of the pioneers of the SA - Gulf/India route. In October last year the joint UASC/Clipper service service took over the vacuum in the trade created by the demise of Afris.

Marcol will continue to be involved with the joint venture until new agency arrangements have been finalised.
