There have been two new management appointments in the Grindrod group. Stephen Pike, former Durban branch manager of Mitchell Cotts Maritime, has now been appointed as new business development manager at King & Sons non-liner division. Pike will be responsible for market research; enhancing the current database; opposition intelligence; and port developments – but mostly for developing new business, both locally and internationally, across the full spectrum of wet and dry bulk cargoes. New Mitchell Cotts branch manager is Gerard Loubser. He started his career with Grindrod 15 years ago, and since 2003 has been operations manager at Mitchell Cotts Maritime. Loubser recently became a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS).
