Maersk Line still in the lead with over 3m TEU capacity

Maersk Line has maintained its spot as the leading shipping line by total TEU capacity in terms of current fleet size and the number of ships on order, according to the latest figures published by data analyst Alphaliner.

Maersk Line, with a current total market share of 14.8%, has surpassed the three million TEU mark – due to the number of ships on its order book for delivery in 2016/2017.

The Mediterranean Shipping Company took the second place ranking with 2.6 million TEUs, followed by French shipping group, CMA CGM Group, with a capacity of 1.8 million.
