THIRTY FIVE students recently received their FIATA freight forwarding certificates from executive officer: Forwarding and Clearing Chamber of the new Sectoral Education Transport Authority (Seta), Charles Dey.
Dey said he was proud of the standard of work achieved by the students and said it was of an internationally-accepted standard. South Africa was placed ninth in the world, tie with Spain, in the number of certificates issued, said Dey.
President of the South African Association of Freight Forwarders, John White, also congratulated the students on their achievements and said the dissertations handed in by the students were varied and interesting.
These diplomas are accepted world-wide so this is a great achievement, he said. Top student in the second year course was Dirk Robinson with Vera Wandrey as the dux student in second place. Top student in the first year course was Poovan Govender with Vanessa Bristow as dux in second place.
