Setting the BEE record straight I refer to the article headed “Twala Global achieves BEE milestone” (FTW October 20, 2006.) In this Twala Global states that their clients can claim “disbursements such as Customs dues…..” Please note to set the record straight, Customs duties and taxes as well as the VAT are excluded as stated in 7.2.1 of the Act. I would suggest that a retraction of this statement is made as it certainly gives all importers out there the wrong impression.
