Labour and electricity shortages hold back growth

CLIVE EMDON LABOUR SHORTAGES at all levels, failings in the electricity supply and high communication costs are top-of-the-list of South Africa’s major growth constraints, according to the Bureau for Economic Research (BER) Road and rail infrastructure shortfalls and port bottlenecks are expected to affect exports and imports and impede growth in the medium and long-term, the report adds.
