Knight heads up West and Central Asia region

STEPHEN KNIGHT, formerly Safmarine's director of strategic sales, has taken over as regional executive: West and Central Asia, which covers Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. He is based in Dubai. Born in the UK, Knight has notched up 22 years' experience in commercial management within the international environment. He joined Safmarine in 2006 after two years in Moscow as Maersk Line's director of sales for Eastern Europe. He first joined the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group in 1994 as a customer services representative in the UK. He was promoted to general manager, intra European trade in 2000, a position he held until 2003.
