KEVIN MAYHEW has taken over the local beat from Leonard Neill who leaves FTW after seven years during which he has played a key role in the growth of the publication. Leonard leaves on the 50th anniversary of the day on which he walked into his first full-time appointment on a newspaper, the Natal Witness, and has been bashing the keys ever since. We will continue to hear from him from his new home in Knysna where he will be involved in writing for a variety of publications, FTW included. Kevin brings to the position more than 20 years experience in business and financial journalism, including an award for transport hard news writing for following the rail and road links into Africa from Krugersdorp to Lubumbashi in then Zaire in 1984. His incisive style and passionate interest in the industry will no doubt add a new dimension to FTW’s award-winning editorial mix.
