AN FTW reader has disputed the claim in last week’s FTW that Mitsui OSK Line’s Mosel Ace was the first car carrier to call at the Port of Cape Town (FTW February 21, 2003). According to Chris Cook, now retired from Freightmarine, K Line recorded that historical milestone some ten years ago when two of its car carriers discharged around 500 Romanian ‘bakkies’ in the port.
