Katlego hints at new deal ‘BEE status secondary to service excellence’

KATLEGO GLOBAL Logistics has been flying high since its launch six years ago.
Its legitimate black economic empowerment status has clearly opened doors for the company. But managing director Moses Maboi knows full well that in a highly competitive industry where dog eats dog it takes more than BEE status to make the grade.
“Competitive pricing, transparent costing and customer service second to none are the cornerstones of our business,” he told FTW.
And it’s a philosophy that has clearly delivered the goods. The company last year took home the Gauteng Excellence Award presented by the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry at its Gauteng Exporter of the Year presentations. Katlego was the first black empowerment company to receive an award at the function.
The Gauteng-based company now offers a national network with offices in Durban and Cape Town.
As this issue went to press, Maboi was in negotiations that could take Katlego to a new level. Watch this space!
