Kapele continues on expansion course

JAMES HALL THANKS TO its strategic alliance with Röhlig- Grindrod, six year-old Kapele Freight and Logistics enjoys one of the transport industry’s most advanced information technology systems, which it applies to any type of customer need, says MD Kuben Reddi. “The system minimises erroneous tariffing while reducing customs processing time.” Based on the East Rand, Kapele Freight last year opened offices in Durban and Port Elizabeth. Expansion is set to continue with the introduction of company facilities in Cape Town and East London this year. Reddi succinctly summed up the impact of this policy on business when he commented: “Things are doing well in 2007.” Kapele, through its international partners Röhlig, has offices in over 100 countries on six continents. The range of services offered include international forwarding, customs clearing, warehousing, inventory management and national distribution. For airfreight customers, daily consolidations from Europe are available, with a weekly frequency from the USA and Far East using first class carriers with the option of direct or deferred service. For sea freight customers weekly sailings for full container loads and groupage cargo are on offer. As a relatively young firm aligned with a worldwide shipping giant, Kapele Freight and Logistics believes it offers the best of both worlds: “We can offer the flexibility and close client relationship of a small and mobile company, as well as strength and diversity of a large organisation,” said Reddi.
