A planned general transportation strike on June 15 and 16 is set to bring Italy to a halt.
The strike will begin at 21h00 on June 15 with a 24-hour rail strike. Services on all major rail companies, including Trentitalia, will be affected.
On June 16, metro systems and buses across the country will strike periodically throughout the day. Taxis will be hard to find.
Nationwide, air traffic controllers will strike between 13h00 and 17h00 and Alitalia crew will walk out from 10h00-14h00.
There are disruptions expected at Genoa Airport, Verona Airport and Bergamo Airport between 10h00 and 14h00. Rome Fiumicino Airport is expecting disruptions between 12h00 and 16h00.
All airlines operating in Italy, ground staff and flight personnel are apparently planning to strike from 10h00 until 23h59.
