Information keeps coming through about CMA CGA going offline this morning but an internet check confirmed that the Marseille-based ocean freight service was still experiencing major connectivity issues this morning at 11h00 SA Standard Time.
This emerged after it was reported that some applications of CMA CGM and its partner down under, Australian National Line (ANL), had become unavailable.
According to a Singaporean shipping news source, the group said the disconnection it was experiencing was because of an “internal IT infrastructure issue”.
Speculation that CMA CGM was having its network hacked, as had happened with competing lines in the recent past, was denied at the time this report was about to be posted.
An official Tweet sent out by the line said: “External access to CMA CGM IT applications are currently unavailable. IT teams are working on resolving the incident to ensure business continuity. For all bookings, please contact your local agency. We will keep you posted regularly on the current situation.”
When Freight News tried to access the service’s main site, it was still unavailable, only saying “gateway timeout”.
