A new initiative established

to provide the industry with

vital statistical information,

particularly related to which

products have been moved to

which destination markets,

is helping the

fruit sector to

focus on the

big picture.

Branded

Agri-Hub,

it is an

independent

legal entity

established by

three growers’

organisations

and four

competing

software solutions companies

that provides the necessary

statistical data to enable the

industry to plan and operate

more competitively.

“It was established because

the industry’s information

needs were not fully serviced,"

said a spokesman.

The three organisations

involved are the Citrus

Growers’ Organisation (CGA),

Hortgro and the South

African Table Grape Industry

(SATI) along with the Fresh

Produce Exporters' Forum

(FPEF), while

the industry

shareholders

are Dipar,

Farsoft,

Paltrack and

Prophet.

All parties

have equal

shareholding,

striking

a healthy

balance

between

industry and commercial

interests.

Agri-Hub is currently

focused on serving the

statistical information

requirements of its various

industry stakeholders but it

is envisaged that the range

of services will be extended

over time.

INSERT

Agri-Hub serves the

statistical information

requirements of

its various industry

stakeholders.
