Companies now have until
midnight December 31 to lodge
a Section 51 manual with the
South African Human Rights
Commission (SAHRC) in terms
of the Promotion of Access to
Information Act (PAIA).
The first deadline was in
2005, and this was extended
when the government servers
could not handle the traffic.
A second deadline of
December 31, 2011, did not see
the required response.
Companies in the transport,
storage and communication
sector with 50 or more
employees or with a turnover of
more than R10 million a year
did not qualify for the extension
of the deadline, according to
the SAHRC site.
