Inflation eases

CONSUMER INFLATION moderated in October – a result of the drop in petrol prices during the month, although upward pressure stemmed from food prices and personal care. The government’s measuring tool, CPIX, fell from 5.1% in September to 5% in October, while core inflation fell from 3.8% to 3.3%.
