Income from freight transportation increases

Income from freight transportation in South Africa increased 14.2% yearon- year in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. According to data released by Statistics South Africa, the increase was driven primarily by mining and quarrying products, which contributed 8.7 percentage points to the increase. Manufactured food, beverages and tobacco products contributed 2.4 percentage points, and motor vehicles, parts and accessories contributed 0.7 of a percentage point.
