ICT Academy addresses skills shortage

The creation of a pool of employable graduates with relevant ICT skills and competencies should be at the top of the corporate agenda, according to Gert Schoonbee, managing director of T-Systems South Africa. “Since 2003, T-Systems SA has continually invested in the ICT Academy, a training facility that was established to address the skills shortage within the ICT industry in the country,” he said. Registered with the ISETT SETA and aligned with government legislation, the academy to date has produced more than 1502 internationally certified IT graduates with a 95% pass rate and more than 85% employment rate in IT-related fields.
