Independent Beira Logistics Terminals (IBLT) has completed a new development in Beira, Mozambique, focusing on bulk minerals.According to Kevin Hutton, general manager of Beira Logistics Terminals (BLT), this commodity sector has seen considerable growth over the past two years. “There was a definite need to expand our facility to accommodate the growth in this sector,” he said. “The new development will allow IBLT to handle additional tonnage, but more importantly, it will allow us to do so more efficiently than ever. “It has also freed up much-needed space for logistics cargo, which has also seen growth in the last 12 months.”Hutton said warehousing capacity was under pressure as demand was high. “Now, more than ever, warehousing space is at a premium as clients are unable to move cargo to the hinterland as quickly as before.”
