HYDRO AIR, South Africa's only privately owned dedicated air freight operation, has entered into an agreement with DHL Aviation for consignments to be entered into its European network service for flight and trucking delivery.
The service commences on March 1, which means that South African exporters can now have any item delivered to any European destination within 48 hours of acceptance at Johannesburg International Airport.
"We are specifically targeting smaller agents and exporters, who often find that their packages under 500kg cannot find space on other flights, although there is no restriction on the larger items acceptable," says Dieter von Mansberg, managing director of The Cargo Connection, general sales agents for Hydro Air.
"As from March 1 Hydro Air will change its twice-a-week schedule to arrive in Brussels instead of Ostend, allowing for immediate delivery of goods into the DHL service from that airport."
