SOUTH AFRICAN airfreight operator Hydro Air Cargo will establish its own European office during March, situated in Brussels. Dieter von Mansberg, managing director of GSA The Cargo Connection, will head the new operation with an accountant from Hydro AirÕs Pretoria head office joining him.
Von Mansberg plans to return to South Africa after two or three months, but over a period of time the Brussels office will expand to enhance services to GSAs and clients in load co-ordination, AWB control and yield management, he says.
The airlineÕs previous European hub at Ostend was discontinued with the first arrival at the new hub at Brussels on March 3.
Hydro has appointed the former Sabena Handling at Brucargo for its cargo and ground handling, with effect March 1.
To avoid further confusion in the market, Hydro has announced the following GSA appointments in various European countries:
Scandinavia - GSA Scandinavia (Copenhagen); Holland - Active Airline Representatives (Amsterdam); Belgium - Airfellow (Brussels); in France, Switzerland and Austria - ATC Aviation (situated in Paris, Zurich and Vienna); Germany - Transnautic Aero (Frankfurt); Italy - ADP (Milan); Spain and UK/Ireland - Air Logistics (Barcelona and East Midlands).
