Jet.X Couriers has broken

into the high-value goods

transport market in Namibia.

The company is handling

the delivery and reverse

logistics for a cellphone

company for a six-month

trial.

Security has been upgraded

on the vehicles carrying the

high-value cargo, according to

manager Nian Berg.

“We have developed a

secure bin solution for the

storage of the phones in

transit. Bins are sealed

using plastic seals with

unique barcoded numbers.

“The numbers are scanned

in on despatch and again on

arrival to ensure that there

has been no tampering,” he

says.

Cargo areas are also

being secured with reusable

electronic locks that only

open at specific times – and if

they are in a predetermined

location.

The transport of highvalue

items builds on the

company's expertise in

the pharmaceutical field

where it carries time- and

temperature-sensitive vaccines

and medicines, he adds.
