High level team appointed to serve on Gauteng economic advisory panel

Gauteng premier, David Makhura, has appointed a 14-member economic advisory panel in a bid to turn the province’s fortunes around and ensure that all economic and infrastructure plans are implemented with "rigour and the required discipline”.

The team includes former deputy finance minister Jabu Moleketi – who will head up the panel as chairman – and chief executive of the Coega Development Corporation, Pepi Silinga

"The panel will advise the Gauteng provincial government on implementing strategies to realise our objectives of increasing employment, empowerment, exports and inclusive growth in line with the vision set out in the National Development Plan and our provincial economic plan,” said Makhura.

Other members of the panel are Sizeka Rensburg, Chichi Maponya, Lumkile Mondi, Dumisani Dakile, Trudy Makhanya, Thandi Ndlovu, Pamela Mondliwa, Ravi Naidoo, Fiona Tregenna, Paul Jourdan, Davis Cook and Tebogo Nkosi.
