The Exporters’ Club Western Cape (ECWC) has answered the call to assist matriculants from Cape townships in preparing themselves for the job market. Club members handed over a cheque for R5500 to specialist freight recruitment company Lee Botti & Associates for her iThuba Project. The initiative was started last year in an effort to equip first-time job seekers with the necessary skills and know-how to enter the job market. The money, raised through a raffle, was handed over to MD Lee Botti at a recent event in Cape Town. Through a series of interactive workshops run at the Iziko Maritime Centre on the Cape Town Waterfront, the project aims to equip Grade 12 learners with some very valuable and necessary tips and advice on how to find a job. “Unemployment remains a major problem in South Africa and through this project we hope to make a difference by equipping these young children with the necessary skills and knowledge that will improve their chances of finding work.” CAPTION Terry Gales, chairman of the Exporters' Club Western Cape, hands over a cheque to Lee Botti & Associates for the iTuba charity project.
