Groupage operator ready to grow Zim business

Trade to Zimbabwe from Asia, the United States (US) and Europe is on the rise and direct freight consolidation services to Harare could be coming back, said Peter Schmidt-Löffler, group CEO of CFR Freight. “We are very positive about the future in Zimbabwe and we are looking to invest in the business and country to take advantage of the projected growth,” he said, highlighting that with the new leadership opportunities would arise – whether in the agriculture, mining or general trading sectors. Schmidt-Löffler pointed out that the group’s sea, air and road divisions had consistent trade with Zimbabwe. “We are looking to significantly grow the trade by offering more regular services. Full load as well as part load (LTL) enquiries are coming through daily from our clearing and forwarding clients.” “We have been established in Zimbabwe for at least eight years through our local agent and partner Trax International. Dirk Nel, the owner of Trax International, has been in the market for over 20 years and his company has become a very well recognised brand,” said SchmidtLöffler.
